FUNCTIONS OF GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE
1. Establishes Governance Committee goals, objectives and develops a work plan.
2. Evaluates the expertise needed by new Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board Directors to drive the Lehigh Valley WIB's Strategic Plan. Recommends candidates to the County Executives to serve on the Board/Youth Council to ensure a succession plan is in place for all leadership positions.
3. Reviews board member expertise, which is needed and aligned with strategic plan, and recommends to the County Executives Board members to serve on the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, Inc.
4. Orients new Board members on expectations and responsibilities of serving on the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, Inc., as well as on the goals, objectives and work plan of the Board's various Committees.
5. Designs a plan to enhance the Board's overall knowledge and awareness of workforce, education, and economic development issues.
6. Reviews Board and Committees' policies, procedures and by-laws annually.
7. Makes recommendations to the LVWIB regarding Operators of the workforce system and oversees the performance evaluations of the Operators.
